修正勁度一詞的一般性定義是指結構系統中的某一桿件，遠端在實際存在的邊界條件下，其簡支近端(simpleend)欲產生單位旋轉(unitrotation)時所需要的端力矩(endmoment)。
此一名詞出自力矩分配法解析(momentdistributionmethod)式中，s'為修正勁度；
E為材料彈性模數；
K'為修正勁度係數；
K'值視遠端點邊界條件而定。
