【辭書名稱】力學名詞辭典
一般而言，此名詞與polymers同義，但仍有一些科學家將這兩者作更仔細的分辨。
有時本名詞意為大分子物質(verylargemolecules)，以與高分子聚合體(polymers)由重複的結構單元(structuralunits)所組成的高分子物質有所區別。
但通常macromolecules與polymers是同指高分子聚合體。
